Manual Setup

With the manual setup, you can fully customize the Submitty workflow directly during the setup process.

Every setting, except the submission channel, can be modified afterwards.

It is suggested to use this mode only if you want to use an already existing submission channel. Otherwise it's easier to use the automatic setup functionality.

To set up a channel, use the /channel setup command. The bot will now create a message that guides you through the setup process.

Submission Group Config: <Submission Group Name>
Review Channel

If a review channel is set, submissions will be sent to it before sending to the submission channel. If not set, submissions will be sent to the submission channel directly.

  • Channel: None
Submission Channel

This channel holds all submissions open for voting.

  • Channel: None *
  • Role allowed to vote: @everyone
  • Attach Threads: ✅
  • Ping Role: ❌
Denied Channel

If a denied channel is set, submissions will be sent to it if they are denied. If not set, submissions will dissolve in the ether when they are denied.

  • Channel: None
Closed Channel

If a closed channel is set, submissions will be sent to it if they are closed. If not set, submissions will dissolve in the ether when they are closed.

  • Channel: None
Moderation Role

All users with administrator privilege / admin role can review (approve, deny and close) submissions, leave comments and edit the config. If a moderator role is set, users with that role will have the same permissions in this submission group.

  • Role: None

To change a setting, select the category in the dropdown below the message. The dropdown will than change to let you change the requested setting.

The Submission Channel is the only required channel. You don't need to set a review, deny or closed channel, if you don't want to.
